For students passionate about the dramatic arts, Flinders is committed to providing continual opportunities to participate in musical and theatre productions, workshops and touring.

Students may choose co-curricular opportunities to audition and perform under the bright stage lights or learn technical skills behind the scenes.

There are also opportunities to tour, such as our 2025 Dramatic Arts Tour to Melbourne in July. The outcomes are positive as students develop talents and skills while building lifelong friendships.

For keen students in the Primary School, there are opportunities to learn skills in auditioning, singing, dancing and acting, and perform in an annual musical production.

All students are able to audition, rehearse and perform in professional venues on the Flinders campus, including the 600-seat main stage Performance Centre venue, the 120-seat traditional Drama Theatre and the intimate 90-seat Experimental Theatre.

Musical Productions

Each year, the Flinders Dramatic Arts Co-Curricular Program enables students to join a series of musical performances and staged productions, whether they are keen to be on stage or working behind the scenes.

Leading the vibrant program is the Director of Dramatic Arts, Mr Andy Fraser.

Recent highlights include the College's epic productions of Chicago, Legally Blonde, Anastasia: The Musical and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a performance and workshop tour to Western Australia, and top-class mentoring from artists in residence, including Warwick Doddrell, assistant director at Opera Australia and award-winning playwright, Donna Hughes.

And the Flinders听Primary School听has a new fledgling co-curricular youth theatre to develop students in Years 5 and 6, along with a SCISSA Dramatic Arts offering to create and present a production each Semester.
